India women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj failed to win a single toss during her Down Under tour. Mithali led India in four matches – three One Day Internationals and the historic pink ball Test. Mithali opened up on her struggle to win the toss Down Under, after the one-sided Test in Queensland ended in a draw due to bad weather. On losing the toss, Mithali lightly said that she needs to “take a cue” from former Indian men’s cricket team captain MS Dhoni to learn the art of winning the toss.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to Twitter to share a video of Mithali’s reply on her lack of luck with the toss.

In the video, Mithali said, “History of me losing the toss, I didn’t want it to become a legacy. And the way girls are dragging my leg for that, I thought, okay let me change (call me) )toss) but I clearly feel that I need to take cues from MS Dhoni on how to win the toss,” said Mithali.
The veteran Indian batsman, who has announced his retirement from the shortest format of the game, will not be a part of the upcoming three-match T20I series in Australia.
After the draw test, Mithali said that she was impressed by the performance of the youngsters Down Under.
Mithali said, “She shared her experience and along with Jhulan, young fast bowlers Pooja Vastrakar and Meghna Singh were given a chance to learn a lot. Smriti has been very impressive. I also met Yastika Bhatia and Richa Ghosh in ODIs. I was impressed.” .
