Former England captain Michael Vaughan heaped praise on Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and said that he is the “perfect T20 cricketer”. Jadeja has been in good form for some time now. The 32-year-old’s contribution with both bat and ball this season has been instrumental in CSK reaching the playoffs. Speaking on Cricbuzz Live, Vaughan highlighted Jadeja’s all-rounder abilities while labeling him as the perfect pick in the shortest format of the game.
“You all know how much I rate Ravindra Jadeja. If you’re building a T20 cricketer – if you’re building a batsman, you love the power of Chris Gayle and the skill element of Virat Kohli. And the way he can spin the ball. But if you want to become a cricketer, if you start from the beginning, you almost start with someone like Ravindra Jadeja because he provides you everything. It is,” Vaughan said on Cricbuzz Live.
“He (Jadeja) is an incredible fielder, he can bowl superb left-arm spin, if the surface has an element of spin, he is just as good. Obviously, with the bat, he can play the role of an anchor. If you lose wickets early, he can also come off with 15 balls and go a long way from ball 01. He is the perfect T20 cricketer,” said Vaughan.
In IPL 2021, Jadeja faced 19 balls in the 20th over and scored 64 runs. He has hit seven sixes and three fours at a strike rate of over 336.
In the current season, Jadeja has scored 212 runs in 10 innings at a strike rate of 152.51.
With the ball, the left-hander has taken 10 wickets conceding runs at less than 7 per over.
