Pakistan cricket team batsman Shan Masood said that the entire team is fully behind captain Babar Azam and even claimed that the players are “ready to lay down their lives” for him. In recent times, several former cricketers have criticized Babar and even pointed to a possible rift in the Pakistan team. However, in a recent conversation, Masood completely denied any such reports and said that the team is more united than ever and is ready to perform under Babar’s leadership.

“When Sarfraz Ahmed was our captain, we were ready to lay down our lives and now we are ready to lay down our lives for Babar Azam,” the Pakistan batsman told a local channel, according to Cricket Pakistan.

Masood also dismissed all rumors of a possible rift between the cricketers in the national team.

When asked about the team’s morale, he said, “We see a lot of news on criticism of the team but we don’t get bothered by them because our common goal is to play for our country.”

Masood also heaped praise on fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi and described him as one of the best bowlers in the world at the moment. Shaheen has been impressing one and all with his bowling performances in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) and as the captain of Lahore Qalandars, he has even earned praise from Shoaib Akhtar for his all-round performances.

“If you are able to stay in Shaheen’s first over and hit a six, it means you are playing very well because he is the number one bowler in the world right now,” he said.
