India A’s bowling once again put up an impressive performance with the ball as it ended in poor light on the third day of the second four-day match in Bloemfontein on Thursday. While Ishan Porel took two wickets, Saurabh Kumar and Baba Aparajit took a wicket each, as India A reduced South Africa A to 116/5 to take a 137 lead.

Taking a 21-run lead in the first innings, South Africa A got off to a solid start as Sarel Irvi and skipper Peter Malan shared a 69-run stand before Saurabh Kumar dismissed the former for 41.

Although Malan and Renard van Tonder put on 29 runs together, India A took South Africa A’s innings by four wickets for a gap of 17 runs. While Malan was run out, Zubair Hamza was dismissed by Baba Aparajit.

Porel then struck twice in quick succession, knocking out Van Tonder and Synthemba Keshile before a game of poor light.

Earlier, India A, who resumed proceedings on the third day at 198/5, added 78 runs to their overnight score before being all out for 276.

Hanuma Vihari, who remained unbeaten on 45 on the second day, scored a brilliant half-century. But the right-handed batsman was gone as soon as Marco Jensen hit him. Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Khan did well with the bat and shared a quick 41-run partnership with Saurabh Kumar to take India A past 250.
