“Sign Cristiano Ronaldo Please”: Kevin Pietersen’s Petition To Chelsea

Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen

Kevin Pietersen is a strong supporter of Chelsea FC and he keeps on showing his love for the club on his social media handles. Earlier this year, he mercilessly trolled Yuvraj Singh, a Manchester United supporter, when the Red Devils were on a losing streak. Right now, there is a huge buzz about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United, and keeping the story in mind, Pietersen requested Chelsea to sign Ronaldo.

“@Cristiano please sign at @ChelseaFC,” Peterson wrote on Twitter.

The Portugal superstar stunned United with his blistering exit request following the team’s failure to qualify for the Champions League earlier this month. Ronaldo expected several top clubs to vie to sign him.

But for the first time in his illustrious career he is no longer an essential item for Europe’s wealthy elite as Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have all turned their backs on the forward.

United manager Eric ten Haag has repeatedly told the club’s public position that Ronaldo is “not for sale”.

Nevertheless, although Ronaldo finished as United’s top scorer last season, there is a growing feeling in Manchester that his departure could benefit Ten Haag from the prospect of building a side suited to the style created at Ajax.

United flourished on pre-season tours of Asia and Australia without Ronaldo, scoring 11 goals in wins over Liverpool, Melbourne Victory and Crystal Palace.
