Former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly is considered to be one of the best captains Team India has ever had. The Kolkata-born cricketer made his ODI debut in 1992 against West Indies and scored a total of 11363 runs in 311 matches. He also scored 22 centuries and 72 half-centuries and was known as a fearless player. Apart from this, he also led Team India in the 2003 World Cup, where his team was the first runner-up. However, fans got to see a completely different side of “Dada” in a recent advertisement where the former captain was seen endorsing a biscuit brand.
In a video posted on Instagram, Ganguly was seen in a Bengali advertisement where he posed as a gold smuggler and asked his henchman, “Mona, where is the gold?”
The video soon went viral on social media and fans were amused to see Ganguly in such a hilarious look.
Ganguly’s term as BCCI president ends in October 2022, when he is replaced by 1983 World Cup-winning India player Roger Binny. In his career as a player, Ganguly played 113 Tests and scored 7212 runs, including 1 double century, 16 tons and 35 half-centuries. He has also played 59 matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he scored 1349 runs with seven fifties.
Earlier, the former captain had faced off in a fun-filled cricket match with Ranbir Kapoor at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Ranbir was in the city for the promotion of his film ‘Tu Jhootha Main Makkar’. The two celebrities clashed on the cricket field as Ganguly’s team was called “False XI”, while Ranbir’s team was named Makkar XI.
