Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah on Monday tamed Sri Lankan batsman Kusal Mendis with a one-ball delivery. In the ongoing first Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the Galle International Stadium, the spinner pitched the ball to Mendis outside the leg-stump and swung it to hit the off-stump. Yasir’s ball was similar to the “Ball of the Century” bowled by the late Shane Warne, the legendary Australian leg-spinner in the early 1990s.
It is noteworthy that Warne bowled a fast leg spin to England batsman Mike Gatting at Old Trafford in 1993. This ball is also called “Ball of the Century”. Yasir Shah’s Mendis delivery reminded fans of Warne’s famous dismissal.
