Scotland will face Papua New Guinea on Tuesday in the fifth match of the first round of the ongoing T20 World Cup. The match will be played at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Al Amarat. Scotland, who thrashed Bangladesh by six runs in the opening match of their campaign, have a chance to top Group B. They are on par with Oman, who beat Papua New Guinea by 10 wickets, but are trailing due to a low net run-rate. Scotland’s net run-rate is +0.300, while Oman has a net run-rate of +3.135 thanks to their massive win on Sunday. All eyes will be on Chris Greaves who produced an all-round masterclass to help Scotland better Bangladesh. Scotland, at one point in time, were at 53 for six when the right-handed batsman smashed 45 off 28 balls to dismiss them. Then Greaves sent back Bangladesh’s most experienced pair of Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim to give momentum to Scotland’s side. He took two wickets for 19 runs and was adjudged the player of the match. (live scorecard)
