India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has gone for a scan after injuring his right shoulder while batting against Pakistan in the first match of his campaign in Dubai on Sunday. Hardik knocked on his shoulder during his 11-run knock as India posted 151/7 in their 20 overs. Hardik faced eight balls and was dismissed by Haris Rauf. The 28-year-old all-rounder did not come to field after being injured. The news will come as a major concern for Virat Kohli-led India, with Hardik being handed the crucial role of finisher in the batting order. The news added to India’s troubles as the Kohli-led side lost to arch-rivals Pakistan by 10 wickets in Dubai.
Opting to bat first, India got off to a poor start as Shaheen Afridi dismissed openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul early.
Suryakumar Yadav fell soon after, with Hasan Ali taking his wicket. Rishabh Pant and Kohli then led India’s revival before being dismissed for 39.
Kohli, however, played a crucial innings and helped revive India’s innings. The 32-year-old batsman scored a half-century in which he scored 57 runs as he helped India post a total of 151/7 in their 20 overs.
In reply, Pakistan openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan gave their team a great start as they looked to be in complete control from the start to chase down their target.
India continued their quest for success but Pakistan captain Azam and Rizwan never lacked their armor as they secured the victory with all 10 wickets and 13 balls to spare.
