Australia opener David Warner has said that the rumors about his poor form have been exaggerated and he thinks it is quite ‘fun’ how people are talking about it. Warner was recently dropped by his Indian Premier League (IPL) team Sunrisers Hyderabad for his poor performance. Warner scored 14 against South Africa in Australia’s opening match of the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup 2021 in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. “From my point of view, I really think people are talking about my form. I laugh at this matter because at the end of the day I hardly played any cricket and then I had two games in IPL and Then they basically wanted to give a crack to all the other youngsters.” quoted Warner as saying.

“From my point of view, it’s fine. And practice games are practice games for a reason. The other day (against South Africa) I got my benchmark back where I should be with my feet and everything.”

The opener also said that he is “ready” to go ahead in the tournament and is in “good shape”.

“I think I’m in a good spot, I’m hitting the ball well in the nets, I couldn’t be more ready to go. The other day (against South Africa) I felt like I was a boundary away Having a good innings,” Warner said.

Australia will now take on Sri Lanka for their next ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match on 28 October in Dubai.
