After Mumbai Indians Women and Gujarat Giants, UP Warriors have unveiled their jersey for the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League. The jersey was officially unveiled on the Warriors’ social media handles on Tuesday. The dominant color of the jersey is predominantly yellow, with a deep shade of purple highlighting the sleeves with the silhouette of Rani Lakshmi Bai, the famous freedom fighter and symbol of women power.

UP Warriors will be led by Australia’s five-time T20 World Cup winner Alyssa Healy. The management decided to pin their hopes on her rather than Deepti Sharma. Warriors took his services for Rs 70 lakhs.

Deepti Sharma became the costliest player for UP Warriors at the Women’s Premier League auction for Rs 2.6 crore. There are six overseas players in the UP Warriors WIPL roster for 2023. Alyssa Healy, Grace Harris, Lauren Bell, Tahlia McGrath, Shabnam Ismail and Sophie Ecclestone.

Former England cricketer John Lewis will be present as the coach. On the other hand, Anju Jain has been roped in as the assistant coach and Ashley Noffke will serve as the bowling coach.

The complete UP Warriors roster looks like this: Deepti Sharma, Sophie Ecclestone, Devika Vaidya, Tahlia McGrath, Shabnam Ismail, Grace Harris, Alyssa Healy, Anjali Sarwani, Rajeshwari Gaikwad, Shweta Sehrawat, Kiran Navgire, Lauren Bell, Laxmi Yadav, Parshvi Chopra, S Yashshree, Simran Shaikh.

There will be a total of 20 league matches in the first season of the Women’s Premier League. The playoff game will be played on March 24.

The final of the Women’s Premier League 2023 will be played on March 26 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

The Warriors will begin their campaign against Gujarat Giants on March 5 at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
