The criminal case against Manchester United was dropped two years ago, with prosecutors saying there was no possibility of a conviction. But Mayorga, who has waived her right to anonymity, took a civil action to seek damages.

In a recommendation filed on Wednesday, Magistrate Judge Daniele Albreguets recommended that Ronaldo’s motion to end the case be approved.

Albreguets, whose recommendation will be reviewed by a different judge who is actually hearing the case, blamed Mayorga’s lawyers for the move and said he has raised his case over leaked communications between Ronaldo and his legal team. based, which were privileged.

“The dismissal of Mayorga’s lawyer’s case for improper conduct is a harsh consequence,” Albreguets wrote.

But “if the court does not grant a case-closing ban,[his lawyer’s]actions could have far-reaching, dangerous consequences on the legality of the judicial process.”

Ronaldo’s lawyer Peter Christiansen welcomed the recommendation.
