Watch: Needed 8 runs in 6 balls, Brett Lee turned the clock back to Legends League cricket

At the peak of his powers, Brett Lee was one of the most feared bowlers to have ever walked in world cricket. Fast forward a fair few years, and the Australian great is still packing his stuff and making life miserable for the batsmen. At the age of 45, Brett Lee is currently participating in the Legends League cricket tournament. Playing for the World Giants, the Australian turned back the clock and how he produced a sensational final over on Thursday to help his team get over the line against the India Maharajas at Al Amarat.

Watch Brett Lee’s scintillating performance here:

Chasing 229 for victory, the Maharaja of India looked set for victory. At the end of 49 overs, India Maharaja needed just 8 runs off the last six balls, with Irfan Pathan and Rajat Bhatia at the crease.

However, Brett Lee had other ideas and produced a sensational over to negate the Maharajas of India.

He got off to a great start, throwing wide to Irfan Pathan, which made the equation even easier for the Maharajas of India.

On the next ball, Irfan Pathan tries to get Lee out of the park but skyes the ball with a brilliant catch from Morne Morkel.

Brett Lee could have taken two wickets in two balls as Rajat Bhatia found the fielder in the deep off the very next ball but this time Morkel could not stop the catch.

Bharat Maharaja now needed six runs from the last four balls. Brett Lee perfectly executed the wide, full-length delivery with Avishkar Salvi off the next two balls.

With a six needed off two balls, Salvi again failed to get anything off the ball and Rajat Bhatia tried to steal a single but a direct hit from the wicketkeeper ended his stay.

Amit Bhandari needed to hit Brett Lee for a six off the last ball, but still the Australian target was on wide, yorker length. Bhandari failed to take any bat on the ball as World Giants registered a five-run win.
