Women’s Premier League opener between Mumbai Indians-Gujarat Giants rescheduled. it’s the new start time

The much-awaited Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 will finally get underway from Saturday at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai with a thrilling opening encounter between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans. However in a latest update, the BCCI has said that the start of the first match has been rescheduled due to the opening ceremony of the tournament. The match will now start at 08.00 PM IST and the toss will take place at 07.30 PM.
“The opening game will resume and start at 08.00 PM on Saturday. The toss will take place at 07.30 PM,” the BCCI said in a release.
“The gates will open for fans at 4.00 PM IST and they will be able to watch the grand opening ceremony which will begin at 6:25 PM IST. Adding to the glitz and glamor at the tournament opener will be Bollywood stars – Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon on top, singer Lyricist AP Dhillon will perform some of his musical chartbusters on stage which will enthrall the audience.”
Women cricketers have seen the success of men in the IPL for too long, now it is finally their turn. WPL gives them a chance to claim the stage as their own and shine like they’ve always envisioned. It has taken a long time to get here.
There will be a total of 20 league matches and two playoff matches and these will be played over 23 days. For the 87 women cricketers from 7 nationalities, it is a moment of reckoning for them.
The final match of the league stage will be played between UP Warriors and Delhi Capitals on March 21 at the Brabourne Stadium. The Eliminator will be played on March 24 at the DY Patil Stadium. The final of the Women’s Premier League 2023 will be played at the Brabourne Stadium on 26 March.
