Rishabh Pant’s scintillating performance in the third ODI against England was the reason for India’s ODI series win. He was named the ‘Player of the Match’ for his scintillating unbeaten century, which helped India beat England by five wickets at Old Trafford in Manchester to seal the series 2-1. With India in trouble at 72/4, only eight overs remained to help India chase down a target of 260 before Pant scored 125*. After the series, a special Twitter post of Pant went viral.

Pant posted two pictures of himself with the caption citing a famous dialogue from the web series ‘Mirzapur’. The posts and pictures were full of swag. “And we are adding a new rule, the one who sits on the throne of Mirzapur can change the rule at any time – Munna Bhaiya,” Pant wrote.

Now, the actor who played Munna Bhaiya – Divyendu in the web series Mirzapur – has reacted to Pant’s post. Even the two had a fight.

In the decider of the series, Hardik Pandya’s scintillating performance with the ball saw India bowl out England for 259. The all-rounder returned with figures of 4/24.

But India were in trouble early on as openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma were dismissed in the first five overs.

Virat Kohli was soon in the chase, and even Suryakumar Yadav could not last long.

With India scoring 72/4, Pant and Hardik stitched a scintillating 133-run partnership to save their team and take them to a commanding position.

Pant picked up his pace after Hardik was dismissed for 71 and completed his century with Ravindra Jadeja at the crease with him.

In a hurry to finish the match, Pant hit five consecutive boundaries off David Willey in the 42nd over and then reverse-swayed Joe Root on the first ball of the next over to take India home comfortably.
