Real Madrid will miss the services of Tony Kroos for their last game of the season against Villarreal on Saturday, after testing positive for Coronavirus by a German midfielder. The defending La Liga champion confirmed on Monday that Kroes has been in isolation since May 14, when he came in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

“Real Madrid CF announced that our player, Tony Croce, tested positive in the COVID-19 test he conducted today. Cross has been in isolation since Friday, May 14, after being in direct contact with someone who Tested positive for COVID-19, Real Madrid said in an official statement.

Zinedine Zindan’s men defeated Athletic Bilbao on Sunday, but their city-rival Atletico Madrid scored two goals late to defeat Osasuna 2–1. Atletico Madrid currently top the table, leading Los Blancos by two points in the last game of the season.

Despite this, Real are still in the fray to defend their title and for this they first defeated this year’s Europa League finalist Villarreal and hope to drop the points against Atlético’s Valladolid.
