Mohammad Shami Kalam, paying homage to father, says “Proud to be your son”

Mohammed Shami paid a heartfelt tribute to his father Tausif Ali in a post on social media and prayed that “God give me strength, as you (my father) always gave me.” Shami’s father died of a heart attack in January 2017 and on Tuesday the cricketer posted a picture of his father on the hospital bed with his father remembering him. Shami wrote in a post on Instagram, “Today marks 4 years. I wish I could see you one more time, walk through the door, but I know it’s impossible.”


“I know you can feel my tears and you don’t want me to cry (want), I pray that God will always give me (like) strength to you and somehow get me when I am with heartache I struggle. I lost you

“Proud to be your son and love you dearly miss you dad!” Shami wrote

This fast bowler was last seen for India during the four-match Test series in Australia.

Shami suffered a fracture in his right hand bone after suffering an injury in the first Test of the tour in Adelaide and suffered a loss in the last three matches of the series.

Shami, who made his international debut in one-day internationals against Pakistan in 2013, has played 50 Tests, 79 ODIs and 12 Twenty20 Internationals for India.


The 30-year-old has 180 Test wickets, 148 ODI wickets and 12 T20I wickets to his name.

Shami was not included in the squad named for the first two Tests against England in Chennai since 5 February.
