Citroen C3 EV is coming to make a splash, what’s more special – see for yourself

Now another car will enter the hatchback segment in the country. This car will be none other than the Citroen C3. The special thing will be that this car will make a splash in the market in EV form. So far, this company has launched its car in the country in a non-EV form. In such a situation, once this car is released in the market, it can register its name in the best selling cars. Let’s take a look.

Just a few days ago, Stellantis-owned French automaker Citroen launched its latest C3 hatchback in the country with aggressive pricing. And so far it’s performing very well. But a recently leaked report on the internet revealed that the company is planning to shake up the country again. According to sources, Citroen plans to launch an all-electric car based on the C3 in December this year.

Electric car Citroen C3 hatchback
It is currently believed that the French automaker could make its EV debut in December. It will go on sale in April 2023. Reports claim that the all-electric iteration of the C3 hatchback will get a single electric motor and offer a range of 300 km on a single charge. In addition, the electric hatchback will be based on the modular CMP platform and has already undergone extensive localization to offer competitive pricing with the ICE model.

According to reports, the electric C3 could be better equipped than its ICE counterpart, with features like cruise control, wireless phone charging and automatic climate control. The electrified model is also expected to get a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. As for the pricing of this upcoming EV, it is estimated that it will be priced somewhere around Rs 13 lakh and will compete directly with the Tata Tigor EV and the smaller EV from British automaker MG.

The Citroen C5 Aircross and the C3 are the only two products that Citroen currently offers in India. And recently, the company has started shipping the newly introduced C3 across the country. The base variant of the Citroen C3 starts at Rs 5.7 lakh, while the top-spec fully loaded version costs Rs 8.05 lakh. The company also emphasized that this price is preliminary and will be changed later. 19 cities, including major cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata, offer the new model. However, the brand’s online portal will make the car available in over 90 locations.

What facilities can be used

It gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and reverse parking sensors as standard safety equipment. Powertrain options for the car include two 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engines. The first is the atmospheric version with 82 hp, combined with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It is followed by the 110 hp turbocharged model that comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Automatic transmission-equipped models will not be available at launch, although they may be added later.

Something like that will be the new C3

The exterior of the new C3 will stand out in terms of design with unique accents. The front grille has twin V-shaped daytime running lights and chrome accents. Inside, it will get a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, music and Bluetooth controls, and a steering wheel and fully digital instrument cluster.
