Hero Splendor Xtec: Find out the difference between the old and new Splendor
New Delhi. The size and design of the Hero Splendor Xtec is at par with the old Splendor. The only change is the use of a new LED DRL that is integrated into the headlight cover. Also, the headlight bulb is now LED. Hero also uses new graphics to differentiate the Xtec variant from the regular variant. The combination of a minimalist graphic approach looks good. The company introduced Hero Splendor Xtec with new colors. New color options include Sparkling Beta Blue, Canvas Black, Tornado Gray and Pearl White. The Splendor Plus Xtec gets a matte muffler finish, black alloy wheels, matte engine finish and new body panel graphics. The white color variant gets dark blue moldings with white paint which makes the new Splendor look sportier than before.
The most notable feature of the Hero Splendor Xtec is its new instrument display. The company has given a fully digital display in it. This display shows fuel gauge, side stand indicator, turn indicator, headlight indicator, speed and distance. In addition, the bicycle display system can be connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth. The company has also launched a mobile application (app) with Splendor Plus share.
After connecting this application to the bike, many information including the performance, distance, mileage of the bike can be seen directly on the mobile phone. In addition, when the bike is connected to the smartphone, notifications about calls, missed calls and messages will also be visible on the bike’s digital display. Apart from this, LED daytime running lights are also provided with Splendor Plus. This light is installed just above the headlight. The bike is also equipped with Hero’s i3S start/stop technology.
Hero has not made any changes to the engine of the Hero Splendor Xtec. It is powered by the same 97.2cc BS-VI fuel-injected engine that is used in the standard Splendor Plus. This engine generates a maximum power of 7.9 horsepower and a maximum torque of 8.05 Nm, the engine is mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The bike gets telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. For braking, both the wheels of the bike get drum brakes with a combined braking system.
Hero Splendor Xtec was launched at Rs 72,900 ex-showroom. It is only Rs 3,520 more expensive than the standard model. The ex-showroom price of the standard Splendor Plus model is Rs 69,380. On the other hand, it is Rs 1,200 more expensive than the Splendor Plus model with matte gold leaf. The Splendor Plus Matte Sheet Gold is priced at Rs 71,700 (ex-showroom).
