Maruti Suzuki is known for its awesome cars. This brand is rooted in the hearts and minds of the Indian people. Now Maruti is gearing up to launch new ones one after the other in the country. Meanwhile, the new Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 hatchback has been leaked online ahead of its launch. Its details were shared by car enthusiast Rahul Nair. Based on the information that was leaked earlier, it was confirmed that 12 variants of the Alto K10 will appear, but now the leaked NCT registration documents have revealed that 11 variants will remain. Of these, 6 variants will be equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox and 4 variants with a 5-speed AMT unit (AGS).

The Alto K10 car will be based on the new Heartect modular platform. Hence, the car will be slightly bigger than the Alto 800. If we look at its dimensions, the car will be 3530mm long, 1490mm wide and 1520mm tall. Its wheelbase will be 2380 mm. If we look at the leaked image, the design of the car is between the Alto 800 and the new Celerio hatchback. Although in terms of overall design it looks equal and quite beautiful.

The dash on the inside of the car has been raised compared to the current generation Alto 800 hatchback. Also, the seating position also seems a bit high. It can be said that the interior design is completely new. The car is expected to get a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, adjustable power ORVMS, steering wheel mounted controls, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto connectivity and much more. The safety features have been improved according to today’s needs. It gets ABS, speed warning buzzer, rear parking sensors and dual front airbags as standard safety features. By the way, by October 1, 2022, the number of airbags will be increased to 6.

In terms of powertrain, the same 1.0-litre naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol engine powers the Alto K10 as the new Celerio and Wagon R 1.0. This engine generates 65.7 hp. and 89 Nm of torque. This engine comes with two gearbox options, a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT unit. It is also speculated that the Alto K10 will be sold alongside the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800. The special thing is that when the Alto K10 is launched, it will not have much competition. The reason for this is that due to low sales in this entry-level hatchback segment, most manufacturers have stopped production of their cars. If seen, the Alto K10 will compete only with the Renault Kwid. However, the Alto K10 will face the challenge of its own company’s Alto 800 and S-Presso.
