Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 vs Old Alto: Know the difference between design, engine, features and price
New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki today launched the Alto K10 in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki has always followed market trends. In 2010, it introduced the Alto K10 to Alto customers. Then in 2014 Maruti Suzuki introduced the second generation Alto K10 in India and today Maruti Suzuki launched the third generation Alto K10.
The new Alto K10 has been launched at a starting price of Rs 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The top trim, on the other hand, costs Rs 5,83,500 (ex-showroom). The width of the car is the same as the dimensions, but the new Alto K10 is 15mm shorter than the old Alto K10. Although it is 45mm tall. Its wheelbase has been increased by 20 mm, which is a significant change. Despite the reduction in length, the Alto K10 has managed to increase headroom and headroom. The volume of the trunk in the car has also been increased by 37 liters.
Engine, transmission and fuel efficiency
The new Alto K10 is powered by the new 1.0 L K-series engine that generates 65.7 bhp. and 89 Nm of torque and is more efficient than power. The new Alto K10 now has a claimed mileage of 24.9 kmpl. However, the new Alto K10 lacks Maruti Suzuki’s Start Stop technology, which could have helped the car achieve even better efficiency. The previous generation Alto K10 had a 1.0 liter K10B engine and was slightly more powerful with 67 hp. and 90 Nm of torque but had a slightly lower fuel efficiency of 24.07 kmpl. Both generations of the Alto K10 are available with a 5-speed manual transmission and an AGS transmission.
Design and features
Maruti Suzuki has also launched a new design and styling with the Alto K10. This is a completely new car with a completely different design. Its silhouette, headlight lines, brake lights, everything is brand new. It gets all-black interiors that look sporty and fresh. The Dash is new and gets a large infotainment screen with smartphone connectivity and 4 speaker outputs. It also gets the latest steering wheel design from Maruti Suzuki along with steering wheel mounted controls. The switches for the front power windows are now located in the dash below the infotainment system. For safety, ABS, EBD, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, high speed warning and speed sensor door lock are also available.
The price of the new Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 2022 starts from Rs 3.99-5.83 lakh, while the previous generation Alto K10 was launched in 2014 and was priced at Rs 3.27 lakh. The Alto K1o launched in 2020 was priced at Rs 3.69 lakh, which was an increase of Rs 30,000 over the price of the 2014 generation.
