Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: More than 33 thousand bookings made in 30 days, to be launched in September

Maruti Suzuki is the largest car manufacturer in India. The company’s cars have been ruling the roads for many years. Maruti recently unveiled (introduced) its new Grand Vitara SUV. The price of this SUV will be announced next month. Ahead of the car’s official launch, pre-bookings have started from July 11. The special thing is that within 30 days more than 33,000 bookings have been made on Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. That is, over 1,000 cars a day. Apart from this, around 46 per cent of the total bookings of these cars are for the powerful hybrid variants of the Vitara. This shows their high demand.

Incidentally, Maruti Suzuki has so far received more than 1.10 lakh bookings for Grand Vitara and New Gen Brezza. 78,000 bookings were made for the Brezza in 45 days and 33,000 bookings for the Grand Vitara in 30 days. Recently, Shashank Srivastava, senior executive director of marketing and sales at Maruti Suzuki, said that most of the bookings were made from Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore. The all-new Grand Vitara will remain the flagship SUV in Maruti Suzuki’s portfolio. Also, it will also be the automaker’s first potent hybrid vehicle in India. Moreover, it will be only the second product in its class after the Toyota Urban Cruiser Highrider that this SUV will be based on. It is worth noting that the strong hybrid version of the new Grand Vitara will have an ARAE claimed mileage of 27.97 kmpl. This will make it the most economical SUV in the country. This car will be available in India with two engine variants.

The first option is a new 1.5-liter gasoline engine with strong hybrid technology, which is combined with an e-CVT. The second option is a 1.5-liter mild hybrid gasoline unit. It will be mated to a 5-speed MT and 6-speed AT. There will also be optional AWD in its manual variant. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara prices will be announced in September. It is believed to be priced between Rs 9.50 lakh and Rs 18 lakh ex-showroom. Once launched, the car will go up against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, MG Hector and its technical cousin the Toyota Urban Cruiser Highrider.
