The new Citroen C3 is on the market. This vehicle is the French automaker’s second launch and this French marque has wisely positioned it in the SUV-inspired hatchback B segment.
Citroen C3 is available in the Indian market from Rs.5 lakhs. This is the second launch of the French car maker and the booking of this vehicle has been started by the company from 1st July. Until recently, we expected the C3 to be a combat SUV or aero cross, as seen in the Citroen system. But the brand made it clear in September last year that this vehicle will be in the hatchback segment. It’s a smart move as it opens up a whole new range for the French company and the car will get less competition as it doesn’t stick to one segment. According to Citoren, delivery of the new C3 cars will start soon from the company’s showroom. According to the company, this vehicle can also be purchased through online sales in 90 cities across the country and the vehicle will be delivered to the customer’s home.

Citroen C3 is built on the company’s c cubic platform. Visually, this car has all the characteristics of a Citroen car. Its sleek chrome element, two-tone finish, contoured inserts and heavy-duty trim are some of its appealing features. The car looks like a small C5, which is a good thing for this car. Citroen offers the car in 10 exterior color combinations and also offers customization options. Other features include sporty alloy wheels and roof rails.
Lack of automatic transmission
The main disadvantage of this vehicle is that it does not have automatic transmissions. As for the interior, it gets a large neatly designed cabin with two interior finish options – Anodized Gray and Spicy Orange which get a two-tone color treatment in Spicy Orange. The vivid dashboard panel matches the car’s exterior shade. This vehicle is also quite similar to the C5 Air Cross in terms of features. Customers will get a choice of up to eight seat covers, and the option of mounting smartphone brackets is also available in the car. The C3 also gets a wheelbase of 2540 and a boot of 315 litres.
The car’s steering wheel has a compact design, which, according to the company, makes driving easier. Inside the C3 is a prominent 10-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Its screen mirroring feature is well overdue, and the driver’s smartphone apps display well on it, such as Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The car gets a multi-functional flat-bottom steering wheel, a USB charger and 12 more sockets.
The CITROEN C3 engine is a 1.2L puretech petrol engine. It is an economical vehicle. Its mileage ranges from 19.4 kmpl to 19.8 kmpl across variants. Although there is no direct competition for the car, the new Citroen c3 will rival the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Grand i10 Nios, Tata Poonch and Nissan Magnite and Renault Kyger.
