OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T smartphones in India are getting the stable version of Android 11-based OxygenOS 184.108.40.206 update. The update brings a slew of improvements to the 2018 OnePlus flagship phone, including power consumption optimizations and bug fixes. In August this year, the company competed with the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T running Android 11 with OxygenOS 11. But users who installed this update reportedly faced battery drain problems among other bugs. The update that is now being released is said to fix known issues. It comes with the latest September 2021 security patch.

The Android 11-based OxygenOS 220.127.116.11 update for the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T was announced via a post on the OnePlus community forum.
The update brings power consumption modifications to reduce heating of the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T phones. The update also brings better gyro sensor sensitivity and system stability. It is said to fix known issues, optimize network connection stability, and upgrade Android security patches to September 2021.
In the blog post, OnePlus lauded the feedback given by OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T users who installed Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 in August. The update released last month reportedly contained some bugs and battery drain issues.
As always, the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T smartphones will get the latest updates in a phased manner. In the initial phase, a select few users will receive the update. If there are no bugs in the new firmware, a wider rollout will begin soon. The company has not mentioned the size of the new update.
Users are advised to update their OnePlus smartphone while it has a strong Wi-Fi connection and is charging. The update should automatically arrive over-the-air for both the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T, but users can check for the update manually by visiting it. Settings > System > System Update.
