Realme C15, Realme C12 receiving Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 update

The Realme C15 and Realme C12 are getting the stable version of the Realme UI 2.0 update based on Android 11. The rollout is expected to be conducted in batches and if no bugs are found then all eligible devices should be received soon. Realme has added new features and improvements to its two smartphones in categories like Personalization, System, Launcher, Security & Privacy, Games and more. The Realme C15 and Realme C12 were launched in India in August last year with Android 10-based Realme UI out-of-the-box.

Realme C15, Realme C12 Update Changelog

[Realme] Announced the update for the Realme C15 (Review) and Realme C12 (Review) via a few posts on its community forum. With the update, many new features and improvements are being seen in both the smartphones. Both the smartphones are getting the Realme UI 2.0 update based on Android 11.

As for personalization options, Realme C15 and Realme C12 users will be able to place third-party icons for apps on the home screen. The smartphone also gets three new dark modes in the form of Enhanced, Medium and Gentle modes. Additionally, the wallpaper and icons can also be adjusted in dark mode and the display contrast can be adjusted according to the ambient light. System improvements include new weather animations and optimized vibration effects for text input and gameplay.

Users will now be able to delete a folder or add two or more folders together. The Realme C15 and Realme C12 also now have an option to turn on App Lock from the quick toggle settings. The smartphone now has an option to send a low battery message that shares the location of the smartphone when the battery is below 15 percent. Realme has also added a more powerful SOS function. Additionally, there is also a customized permission manager.

Realme has changed the way it calls up the game assistant and lets users share their personal hotspot using a QR code. The Photos app on the smartphone has received a customized photo editing feature with “advanced algorithms and more markup effects and filters”. The video camera on the Realme C15 and Realme C12 has gained an inertial zoom feature along with a level and grid feature.

Hetap Cloud can now back up photos, documents, system settings, WeChat data and more to easily migrate to a new smartphone. Realme has also added Sleep Capsule feature so that users can schedule their downtime and sleep time.

The firmware version with the update is RMX2180_11.C.05 for Realme C15 and RMX2189_11.C.05 for Realme C12. There is no mention of the size of the update. Users are advised to update their smartphone as long as it is connected to a strong Wi-Fi connection and is charged. The update will roll out in a phased manner and will automatically reach over-the-air eligible devices.
