This phone is the Samsung Galaxy M13 5G which will bring you features like 50MP camera with 5G support, 90Hz display and Dimensity 700 chipset at a starting price of just Rs 13,999. Samsung Galaxy M13 5G Review: Design

The Samsung Galaxy M13 is a simple plastic (polycarbonate) phone. The rear panel is also plain and comes with a matte finish. The Smartprix review is in Dark Gray (Midnight Blue) color. Although it has a matte finish, it leaves fingerprints very easily, which are more visible when the lamp is on.

The phone has a teardrop notch on the front, the three bezels are thinner than the bottom bezels, but they’re a little too much compared to phones coming out today. The company has also made some changes to the rear panel. There’s no camera module this time around, but two cameras are visible in separate rings on the flat rear panel, and there’s an LED flash in front of them.

The fingerprint sensor is on the side of the phone and also acts as a power button. Along with this, the volume rocker is also on the right edge. On the left side is the SIM tray, which contains two SIM slots and a micro SD slot. At the bottom, you’ll find a speaker grill, a Type-C port, and an audio jack, just like other affordable Samsung phones.

Overall, the design of the phone is good for its price, but if it was a little thinner, it would be more comfortable in the hand with a more premium look.

Samsung Galaxy M13 5G Review: Display

The Galaxy M13 5G has a 6.5-inch HD+ display. The good thing is that the phone also gets 90Hz refresh rate support at this price and the display has a brightness of 400 nits. At this brightness, the phone’s display looks good both indoors and outdoors (at full brightness outside during the day), but it’s hard to see in bright sunlight.

Colors look good on the display, though not as good as the AMOLED display, but we have no complaints about the price. It also has an Eye Comfort Mode that keeps this display from looking too heavy on the eyes. The refresh rate is fixed here, it does not change automatically according to the application. For protection, there is also Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Samsung Galaxy M13 5G Review: Performance

This smartphone is powered by Mediatek Dimensity 700 chipset coupled with up to 6GB of RAM. There is also the company’s Samsung RAM Plus feature, with which you can convert part of its memory into RAM if necessary, that is, you also get a 6GB virtual RAM option, with which you can increase the RAM memory up to 12GB.

We didn’t have any complaints about its performance during our use. Using multiple apps simultaneously, watching videos, etc., all daily tasks went smoothly without any interruption. Although you shouldn’t expect a very good gaming experience here, but it’s good for lighthearted gaming.

In terms of software performance, Galaxy M13 runs on Android 12 based One UI 4. Although the interface of One UI 4 is clean and nice, but this time Samsung has given a lot of bloatware here as well. There are many apps pre-installed on the phone such as Snapchat, Moj, Tktk, PhonePe, Twitter, Dailyhunt, Netflix, Facebook and more. The good thing is that you can delete them too. Also, there is a Glance ad in the widget, but it can’t be removed.

Samsung Galaxy M13 5G Review: Camera

The company has already moved from quad rear cameras to dual rear cameras in the M-series phones. This difference is observed from last year to this year. The Galaxy M13 5G has a 50MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4. Photos taken with the phone’s rear camera show natural colors and look great. If the lighting is good, then we did not notice any loss of detail, even when you zoom in on the photos, you can see small things.

In the phone, you can take photos with up to 10x zoom, but once you get to 2x, the photos start to appear blurry. Moreover, it also provides Pro, Panorama, Food and Night modes with which you can take pictures.

The phone also features a 5-megapixel selfie camera housed in the teardrop notch on the front. The colors look good here too, but the detail here is much less and the noise is clearly visible in the pictures.

Samsung Galaxy M13 5G Review: Battery

The Galaxy M13 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery that can comfortably last up to 1.5 days on a full charge. Although the fast charging is only 15W in it, it is not right to call it fast nowadays where other companies also give 33W charging in their cheap phones.

Although Samsung also gave you that 15W charger in the box this time, it’s also a big deal because chargers no longer come with other Samsung phones. It takes just under 2 hours to charge the phone from 0 to 100% with the included charger.

Review Conclusion: Should you buy the Samsung Galaxy M13 5G?

Samsung Galaxy M13 5G is the company’s new M-series phone that offers features like HD+ display, 50MP primary camera and 5000mAh large battery for just Rs.13,999. The performance of the Dimensity 700 chipset in the phone also fully matches the price as well as the rear camera is also able to do its job well. But there is enough bloatware in the phone but you can also remove it. Also, if you look at the price, the design here could have been a bit better and the selfie camera is also a bit disappointing. If you can overlook both these minor flaws, then at just Rs 13,999, this is a good smartphone where you also get the trust of a brand like Samsung.
