Suzuki Ertiga: Car companies launch the same car with different features in different countries. In such a situation, they look different from each other and their performance also changes. In one case one prevails over the other in another case. Now, Japanese automaker Suzuki has showcased the 2023 Ertiga MPV (Multi-Functional Vehicle) at the 2022 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). It is based on the updated Maruti Suzuki Ertiga launched in India. There are some noticeable changes to this compared to the car sold here. The biggest change is that the Philippine-spec Ertiga gets a left-hand drive setup, while the Indian model had a right-hand drive setup. Other differences in the car The new Ertiga MPV gets an additional bodykit with brand new diamond-cut alloy wheels that have front, rear and side skirts that make the car look sportier.
Additional features of the Suzuki Ertiga include a 360-degree camera, a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system instead of the 7-inch powered tailgate. The peculiar thing is that all these features are also not present in the Indian spec version of the Ertiga. The reason there is no 360 degree camera can be assumed to be in the XL6. In fact, the XL6 is the only premium car from the Ertiga that is sold at Nexa stores. However, it does not get a larger touchscreen and a powered tailgate. The car is powered by Suzuki’s K15B 1.5L NA petrol engine, which comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed AT torque converter.
It may be launched in India next year
It is equipped with a lithium battery and integrated starter generator (ISG) technology. This technology helps improve vehicle mileage. However, now the Indian spec Ertiga gets the new K15C 1.5L NA petrol unit that produces 103bhp. and 137 Nm. It can be offered with either a 5-speed manual transmission or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The Ertiga is a seven-seater MPV. Maruti Suzuki currently sells the Ertiga in India at a starting price of Rs 8.41 lakh. Its top variant costs Rs 12.79 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. The MPV competes with the Kia Cairns and its own 6-seater sibling, the XL6. It is believed that the updated Ertiga can be launched in our country next year. These same features are likely to be added to the India-spec model.
