Toyota launches C+Walk T three-wheeled e-scooter as an ‘alternative’ to Walking

Toyota recently launched a three-wheeled battery powered scooter designed to help people with limited mobility. Named the C+ Walk T, the standing-type electric scooter has a low base, being only 150 mm high for easy boarding and disembarkation. It is primarily intended for use in pedestrianized areas and facilitates travel and communication with fellow pedestrians. The Japanese automobile giant said the scooter takes up less space — about as much as a person — and travels at the speed of a typical human walking, making your chances of running into people and objects less. Still, in case you do get distracted, Toyota has equipped the scooter with obstacle detection functions to help avoid collisions.

Outlining its features in a statement, the company said that this vehicle, which has one front and two rear wheels, can be used for commuting within the premises by people working at large scale facilities. , and elderly people, who have difficulty walking. The latest offering by the car makers is equipped with a turning speed control function. This feature will help detect steering angles and perform speed checks. Apart from this, the battery-powered scooter also comes with a steep slope detector. It will automatically slow down the vehicle on steep slopes. And the tires are puncture proof, so there’s no need to worry about mid-way wheel damage.

Toyota has fixed the price of the electric scooter from JPY 341,000 (approximately Rs 2.27 lakh) to JPY 354,200 (approximately Rs 2.36 lakh).
