Bihar Pradesh Working President of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Rahat Chaturvedi on Sunday said that his party will contest 145 seats of Bihar Assembly.
“We will emerge as a third front as an alternative to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Grand Alliance,” Quadri said at a press conference here. Quadri further castigated Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Chirag Paswan, terming it the BJP’s “B-Team”.
“LJP is BJP’s” B-Team “and proposed by the latter. On one hand, LJP says it is part of NDA and on the other it attacks Nitish Kumar who is also part of NDA.” This means that the BJP wants to destroy Nitish Kumar because the people of Bihar have rejected him.
Earlier on 8 October, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) announced that it would contest the Bihar Assembly elections.
The party also said that NCP President Sharad Pawar will be the party’s leading star campaigner for the elections.
The party’s chief spokesperson, Mahesh Tapse, said in a statement, “NCP will nominate its candidates for Bihar assembly elections, Sharad Pawar will campaign in Bihar.”
Elections to the 243-member Bihar Legislative Assembly will be held in three phases on October 28, November 3 and November 7 and counting of votes on November 10.
