Rae Baréli: Dinesh Pratap Singh, Minister of Yogi Adityanath Government of Uttar Pradesh, hit back at Swami Prasad Maurya’s statement regarding Brahmins. He said if Swami Prasad Maurya had so much hatred for Brahmins, then Samajwadi party leaders should not seek votes from Brahmins in the future. Maurya called Ramcharitmanas an absurd book and asked the government to ban it. The leaders of Sant Samaj and the BJP strongly opposed it. Even after that, Maurya did not retract his statement and said that only Pandey priests had a problem with his statement, who saw it as a threat to their business.
Minister of State Dinesh Pratap Singh, independent government official of Uttar Pradesh, mocked Swami Prasad Maurya for his statement targeting Brahmins. Singh said if he (Maurya) says Brahmins are bad or doing evil then their leader shall say we don’t want Brahmins vote from now on. He said, “Swami Prasad Maurya said that I have never been to the temple and will never go in the future. I want this, if Swami Prasad Maurya will not go to the voter of any person or any citizen going to the temple nor want their vote, then I can understand that Samajwadi party has politics and there is also a saying that chor gets kathe steals and tell the lender to stay awake.
Singh said he (Akhilesh Yadav) told an MP to take Ramnami Kanthi and sing it. Keep Brahmins happy. An MLC and a former minister are told to abuse a lot of Brahmins, thanks to which the backward classes will be happy, thanks to which they will continue to obtain a bank of votes, but it is the public who knows everything. What is being done in this manner is no doubt done at the instigation of the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, National Chairman of the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav. The policy of dividing society into caste and religion practiced by the Samajwadi party is not fair.
