Death of 24 birds including a restless stork in Raebareli, a forensic team took samples
Two dozen birds, including a stork, found dead in suspicious condition
In a suspicious condition at the edge of a pond located in Kheeron, the villagers saw a dead and unconscious crane. Apart from that, about two dozen other birds were also found dead. On the information of the villagers, the Forestry Department team and veterinarian Dr. Pankaj Patel arrived at the scene and investigated the incident. Meanwhile, after treating the unconscious stork bird, he handed it over to Forest Department employees. An autopsy of the dead birds was performed and they were buried.
Jagat Narayan Pandey, an employee of the forest department, filed a complaint at Kheeron police station accusing unidentified people of killing birds by feeding them poisonous substances. Veterinarian Dr Pankaj Patel said that in addition to the stork bird, around two dozen other birds died after consuming poisonous substances. The autopsy of all the corpses was done and their corpses were buried. The unconscious stork was treated and handed over to Forestry Department staff.
ASP Vishwajeet Srivastava said based on the complaint filed by the forest department employee, a case was registered against unknown persons. Along with this, it is also established that the reason for the death of these birds is also under investigation.
