sometimesThe infamous town becomes a tourist attraction due to the Mosquito Mafia
Five years ago, the city of Gorakhpur was infamous for mosquitoes and mafia. At that time, no one could even imagine the possibilities of tourism here. But now the same Gorakhpur is gradually becoming the center of tourist attraction. Over the next five years, further expanding the potential of these sectors, the tourism department has set itself the goal of making it a global tourist destination.

Gorakhpur is already rich in religious and cultural heritage. The importance of the Gorakhnath temple and the month-long Khichdi fair on the Makar Sankranti festival is world famous. But, for a long time, there was no place other than the Gorakhnath temple where tourists could be tempted. However, there were many places that had great potential for tourism development. After becoming Chief Minister in 2017, Yogi Adityanath highlighted all the opportunities for tourism development in Gorakhpur.

Ramgarh Tal is compared to Marine Drive and Juhi Chowpatty
There was a time when this pool, spread over 1700 acres, was identified with dirt. Today it is recognized by beauty. Places like Lake View Point, Boating Center, Selfie Point add to its beauty. The sound and light show also attracts a lot of tourists. Tourists who come here have begun to enjoy double-decker boats and kayaking, as well as riding a variety of boats in the pool. Soon the cruise and the floating restaurant are going to be enjoyed here, so the seaplane service business plan is moving forward. Today people compare it to Marine Drive and Juhu Chowpatty in Mumbai.

Gorakhpur becomes the hub for adventure and water sports
CM Yogi has built a world-class water sports complex near Ramgarhtal at a cost of around Rs 45 crore. In this water sports complex there will be an opportunity for water sports competitions of national and international level and their training. The zoo has become the center of knowledge and entertainment
In this sequence, Gorakhpur zoo has become famous as a major center of ecotourism in eastern Uttar Pradesh where you can see the confluence of knowledge and entertainment. The zoo has given new wings to the tourist development of Purvanchal. The foundation of Gorakhpur Zoo was laid on 18 May 201, but until Yogi Adityanath became Chief Minister in March 2017, the ground-patai rituals were paid for in the name of labor. CM Yogi has revived this abandoned project in a neglected state. This zoo was inaugurated on March 27, 2021 as a gift from Holi. In addition to a wide range of wild animals, there is also a rare white tiger.

Chiluatal will seduce Buddhist tourists
Incidentally, the zoo and the Ramgarhtal are at the southern end of the city. In such a situation, the government will also make the northern end shine from a tourism point of view. An important route for this would be Chiluatal, located at the northern end of the city. In times to come, this pace will give competition to Ramgarhtal in terms of beauty. An action plan has been prepared so that Chiluatal will not lag behind Ramgarhtal in attracting tourists from all over the country and abroad. Work on the first phase has also started. Here, all facilities will be provided for tourists on Ramgarhtal lines. After the beautification, residents of the southern end of the city as well as Buddhist tourists traveling to Kapilvastu and Shravasti by road will also attract its beauty.
