High-speed dumper hits SUV in Kanpur, dragged 100 meters, three people died

Kanpur: A high-speed dumper (truck) rammed an SUV and dragged it 100 meters at the Sajeti police station area in Kanpur Nagar on Sunday. According to the police, three people, including two young people, died in the accident. Sajeti Police Station Inspector in Charge (SHO), Pawan Kumar, said Narendra Kumar (28), Anil Kumar (31) and Umeshchandra (59), working in the HR department of MCL Gas Company, were attending a reception held at Eklavya Inter College in Sajeti Came from Kannauj in an SUV.

He said that near Gujaina bend in Sajeti, a high-speed dumper coming from the front hit his SUV and dragged him for 100 meters. The SHO said that with the help of local people, the police pulled out the injured and took them to the community health center where doctors said Narendra Kumar and Anil Kumar died. He said seriously injured Umeshchandra was sent to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital (LR), where he died during treatment.

The SHO said the dump truck was impounded, but the driver fled. He said further investigation is underway by registering an FIR under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
