Kanpur: The action against Irfan Solanki continues continuously in Uttar Pradesh. Police have started seizing the property of Samajwadi party MP Irfan Solanki, who has been in jail since December under the Gangsters Act. On Tuesday, police seized 4 plots belonging to Irfan and his brother Rizwan in Swarna Jayanti Vihar. JCP Anand Prakash Tiwari said that apart from this, the confiscation process of flats in Noida and Mumbai is also continuing. The value of all fixed assets is around 20 crores.
In February, Kanpur police first seized the properties of Shaukat Ali, a builder close to Irfan, in Jajmau and Gwaltoli. The confiscation was due to start last week itself after Irfan and Rizwan properties were identified, but could not take place due to the assembly session. At 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, in the presence of heavy police forces, confiscation councils were put in place on four plots in Swarna Jayanti Vihar. The four plots are adjacent to each other. Meanwhile, Irfan’s lawyer, Gaurav Dixit, said the police action did not take place in accordance with the Gangster Act 2021 rules. The whole process is not taking place according to the law.
Names increased in Gangsters Act: Police have also included the names of Haji Ajjan and former councilor Musarleen Khan Bholu in jailed MP Irfan’s gang table under the Gangsters Act. JCP informed that paper work is underway to add the name of a Corporal Mannu Rahman in the gang table. So far Irfan, Rizwan, Shaukat Ali, Israel Atewala and Mohammad Sharif are imprisoned in the gangster act.
