Martyr Gunner Umesh Pal Raghavendra Singh on his last journey amid Zindabad Police family slogans paid tribute



Madhav Singh, Rae Baréli: UP Constable Raghavendra Singh who was martyred in the murder case of Umesh Pal in Prayagraj received a final farewell with state honors on Thursday. Meanwhile, senior officers from the police department also reached Singh’s village and paid their respects. Youths in the city shouldered the remains of Raghavendra Singh and also held up ‘Zindabad’ slogans. Raghavendra Singh was also shot dead in the shooting of BJP leader and lawyer Umesh Pal in Prayagraj on February 24, after which he was admitted to hospital. He died Thursday morning.

After Raghavendra Singh’s death, his autopsy was done and then the body was sent to Korihara village of Lalganj Kotwali of Rae Bareilly, his native village. A large number of people were present in the city to pay their last respects to the brave soldier. Meanwhile, senior Rae Bareli Police officers were also on hand and bid farewell to the constable. All police officers including ADG Satish Ganesh, SP Alok Priyadarshi expressed their sorrow and condolences over the passing of Raghavendra Singh.

Rae Bareli SP Alok Priyadarshi said Raghavendra Singh was the pride of the police department. His body was honored by the police department, hundreds of people in the city, ADG Satish Ganesh and other colleagues. It’s a heartbreaking moment. Can’t say much. The body was sent with state honors. He said whatever the family’s request, talks have been held about it. The DGP himself spoke. Whatever their requests, all were met.
UP Police have expressed their grief over the death of Raghavendra Singh. It was said while tweeting on behalf of Uttar Pradesh Police that in 2016 Raghavendra Singh was recruited as Constable.
