In fact, Rajat Sharma, a BJP leader associated with the Brahmin Mahasabha, shot and killed New Moradabad resident Santosh Pandit, Metropolitan Co-Minister of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, on Delhi Road on Saturday night. Mohan Bhagwat’s statement was the cause of the incident. At the same time, the heated debate on social media in recent days was also responsible. Santosh was admitted to Sai Hospital in critical condition. The police intervened as soon as information about the case was received. The SSP formed five teams to arrest the accused.

What is the problem?

The two sides of Moradabad clashed over Chief Sangh Mohan Bhagwat’s statement that Brahmins were the origin of the caste system. In fact, Bhagwat said that it was not God, but the experts who created the caste system. Thereupon Rajat Sharma, associated with the Brahmin Mahasabha, began to oppose him. On February 8, he waved slogans against Mohan Bhagwat during a protest by BJP workers. Threatened to burn Bhagwat’s effigy in front of BJP leaders. After the controversy deepened, he began to write about this issue on social media. Vishwa Hindu Parishad activist Santosh Pandit opposed it.

Rajat and Santosh were continually posting and commenting on this issue on Facebook. Santosh Pandit took many jibes from Rajat Sharma. He got angry about it. The brawl that lasted three days on social networks ended in shootings on Saturday.

Companions recounted the incident

Friends of Santosh Pandit, who was injured in the shooting incident, said there was a fight between the two on social media over Mohan Bhagwat’s statement. Santosh and Rajat had been arguing on Facebook for several days. On Saturday, Santosh was returning from a meeting with the Central General Secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad in the dock. Secretary General of the organization Avinash Gupta and Treasurer Yogesh Tyagi were also with him. After getting off the electric rickshaw in front of the HDFC bank on Delhi Road, the three of them walked on talking. Meanwhile, BJP executive member Rajat Sharma arrived on a bicycle. Rajat stopped the motorbike and shot Santosh. Santosh fell after being shot in the stomach. The assailant fled. He was rushed to the hospital in a hurry. He is undergoing treatment. The situation remains critical.

The police started the action in the case

The police started the action after this incident. Raids are carried out to arrest the accused Rajat Sharma. During questioning, police learned that the accused had suddenly reached Santosh on a bicycle. He fired the shot saying “what is not of Parshuram, is of no use to me”. SP City Akhilesh Bhadoria said in this case that in the preliminary investigation, the cause of the incident was brought to light due to the ongoing Facebook controversy. The police are investigating the whole affair thoroughly.

SSP reached the hospital

Santosh Pandit’s companions gathered outside Sai Hospital after the shooting. Seeing the huge crowd gathered outside the hospital, the police also became alert. Forces from many police stations were deployed. SSP Hemraj Meena himself arrived on the spot. Took information on the matter. On being informed of the incident, Minister of State of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Rajkamal Gupta reached Sai Hospital. Condemning the incident, he demanded a severe sentence for the accused.
