New Delhi: Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua, BJP MP for Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, spoke for the first time at the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. During zero hour, the BJP MP raised the issue of including Bhojpuri in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. There is a lot of talk about his speech and his request in the Bhojpuri class. Recently elected in the parliamentary constituency of Azamgarh, Nirhua told the House that Bhojpuri, which is spoken in 16 countries, has also been recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage at the request of Mauritius. He also accused the previous UPA government of giving false assurances about granting constitutional status to Bhojpuri.

Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirhua dominated in his very first speech. By raising the issue of Bhojpuri, he fulfilled the wishes of Bhojpuri speakers. Nirhua said in the Lok Sabha that Bhojpuri could not be included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution for years in the name of ambiguity of rules and non-discrimination of languages. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government had taken positive initiatives to promote Bhojpuri and hoped that a decision would also be taken on granting constitutional status to the language.

The BJP MP said that now we have Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is known for making the impossible possible. I am sure the government will take steps to include Bhojpuri in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. He said everyone respects his language. The Indian government emphasizes the promotion of the local language. Beginning his speech in the Lok Sabha, Nirhua said that language gives meaning to one’s existence. Referring to the quote from Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, he said he spoke of being grateful to the mother tongue.

Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirhua is considered the superstar of Bhojpuri films. Its identity was made by Bhojpuri songs. In such a situation, Nirhua gave voice to the demand of many years of a large part of the Bhojpuri class by raising this issue. Nirhua said that the struggle for the right of the Bhojpuri language has been going on since the year 1967. Now it has to be given the right. Nirhua attained the Lok Sabha by winning the Azamgarh Lok Sabha by-election. SP Chairman Akhilesh Yadav had vacated this seat after winning the 2022 UP elections. SP.
