According to officials, approval from the technical consultant, Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) is awaited for the demolition of the towers.
The demolition time for the twin towers located in the Noida-93A sector has been set for August 21 at 2:30 p.m.
The Supreme Court has set August 28 as the deadline for the demolition of an illegal building about 100 meters high. The period from August 21 to 28 is kept as a “buffer” period.
Ram Badan Singh, DCP (HQ), Gautam Budh Nagar said, “Based on the Supreme Court guidelines for the demolition of the Supertech Twin Towers, Edifice Engineering had requested the police to issue an NOC. The AC was issued subject to certain conditions and in accordance with the rules in force relating to the use of explosive materials.
Responsibility for the demolition of the towers was entrusted to Edphis Engineering by Supertech. Meanwhile, sources said Edphis Engineering has responded to questions from the CBRI, although no clearance has yet been received from the central institute.
A Noida Authority official had said on Tuesday, “After submission of some pending reports to CBRI, the process will only be started after getting their approval.”
Officials said that 9,400 holes have been drilled in these buildings, about 100 meters high, in which more than 3,500 kg of explosive material will be filled.
