Passengers going to Prayagraj should be careful, three special trains will run during Magh Purnima Snan festival, see list

Prayagraj: At this time in Prayagraj of Uttar Pradesh, the hue of Magh Mela is scattered. A large number of devotees reach the Sangam bank of Prayagraj during the Magh Mela. Numerous measures have been taken by the administration and the government in this regard. At the same time, a large number of devotees gather in Sangam Town for the Snan Festival. Upon reaching the bank of Sangam, devotees bathe in the Ganges and Sangam. In view of the occasion of Maghi Purnima Snan festival, special arrangements have been made by the railways. The government has also decided to operate a large number of highway buses. Preparations have been made to operate three special fair trains and 1800 road buses during the Maghi Purnima Snan festival. A special train will run from Benares to Rambagh station. Meanwhile, trains will be available to Prayagraj from Kanpur, Jhansi, Rae Bareli and Gorakhpur routes.

05111-05112 Banaras-Prayagraj Rambagh special train will depart from Varanasi at 2.50pm today for Maghi Purnima Snan festival. This train will arrive at Rambagh station at 6:00 p.m. On the way back, this train will depart at 11am and reach Varanasi station at 2:15pm. While the 05110 Rambagh-Banaras special will depart from Rambagh station at 7:20 a.m. on February 6. It is expected to reach Benares station at 11 am.

North East Railway Varanasi division PRO Ashok Kumar said these trains will have two SLRs and 10 general class cars. A total of 12 special bogie trains will run. At the same time, given the possible crowds at the station, a special decision was taken. Entry will not be permitted at Prayagraj Junction from the civilian lines side until 12:00 on 6 February.

Buses have also been set up to take the faithful.

Road buses have also been arranged to take pilgrims from Prayagraj to different parts of the state. 1800 buses have been fitted out. Road buses will be operated from Civil Lines, Zero Road and Leader Road Bus Stand. Temporary bus stops have also been marked in case crowds increase. MK Trivedi, regional manager of UP Roadways, said officials will continue to assess crowds. He said that additional buses would be made available immediately on the route on which the crowds would increase.

  • Prayagraj Junction: Bharwari, Sirathu, Khaga, Fatehpur and Kanpur roads.
  • Naini and Chheoki Station: Meja Road, Manda Road, Vindhyachal, Mirzapur, Chunar, Manikapur, Shankargarh, Dabhaura, Jaitwar, Satna, Jhansi Road.
  • Prayag-Phaphamau Station: Lucknow, Amethi, Pratapgarh, Unchahar, Rae Bareli road.
  • Rambagh and Jhunsi station: Road to Gyanpur, Bhadohi, Benares, Varanasi, Mau, Ballia, Bhatni, road to Gorakhpur.
