Kanpur: President Draupadi Murmu has expressed his condolences over the tragic death of 26 people in a road accident in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He expressed his grief at news that people had died in the accident. Along with this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his grief. He also expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

In a tweet from Rashtrapati Bhavan’s official handle, he said, “Very saddened by the news of the death of many people in a road accident in Kanpur. My deepest condolences to the families who lost loved ones in this accident. I wish a speedy recovery to the injured.

At least 26 people were killed and several others were injured when a tractor truck overturned and fell into a pond near a village in Kanpur district, a senior official said. After this accident, two ministers from the Yogi government visited the scene and gave an update on the rescue operation. The injured were admitted to hospital.

The first road accident, devotees of Kortha village from Saad police station area in Kanpur traveled to Chandika Devi temple in Fatehpur by tractor-cart. On the way back, 26 people died when the cart overturned in the roadside pond between Sadh and Gambhirpur village. Tractor-carriage 40 people would have rolled. At the same time after that, a high-speed truck hit the loader on the Ahirwan air bridge. 5 people died in the accident. At the same time, seven to eight people are serious. All were leaving for Vindhyachal Mundan.
