Naida: In Uttar Pradesh, special arrangements have been made by UP Roadways to facilitate the return of people home for Holi. UP Roadways will increase bus routes for the convenience of passengers returning home to Holi. A 24-hour bus service will be available from March 3 to 12 for passengers traveling to NCR from Noida Depot to Holi. In addition to serving passengers on Holi, a cash incentive program is also going to be launched for operators and drivers who contribute more to the treasury. At the same time, the frequency of vehicles from other state depots will also be increased. It was decided to put 2065 additional buses on the road.

It was announced by Sanjay Kumar, MD, UP Roadways before March 3. Considering the possibility of gathering of passengers at the Holi bus station, the order to cancel the furlough of drivers and conductors was issued from Lucknow a week ago. ARM NP Singh of Noida Depot said 144 buses from Noida Depot will run around the clock for passenger convenience in Holi. 20 additional buses are also deployed on Holi for passenger convenience.

Buses will run to these locations

Besides Noida Depot, buses to Meerut, Agra, Hathras, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Bareilly, Bandayu, Mathura, Lucknow and Shamli will be available. And special buses will be operated for Haridwar. A regular bus service will be available to the above locations every half hour. Purvanchal residents living in Noida will need to travel to Anand Bihar or Kaushambi depot to catch a bus back home to Holi. Some buses will also be operated from Greater Noida’s Surajpur depot.

The roads will carry 40,000 passengers daily

As part of the special service week starting March 3, around 40,000 passengers will travel to Noida Depot daily. On normal days, 30-32,000 passengers travel from Noida Depot. This figure increases during the festival season. Special preparations have been made by the road authorities in this respect. A hotline number has also been issued for the convenience of passengers. Announcement of additional buses for the 20 zones


In Holi, an additional 2,065 buses were deployed to take passengers to their destinations. If necessary, other buses will be operated. Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh has alerted officials to Holi being held on March 7-8. Minister Dayashankar Singh said the Transport Corporation will operate additional buses for the 20 zones. The necessary directives have been issued for this purpose. Arrangements have been made so that people will have no difficulty returning home for the festival.

60 in Lucknow, 140 in Prayagraj area, 60 in Kanpur, 200 in Etawah, 150 in Moradabad, 50 in Bareilly, 250 in Ghaziabad, 40 in Devipatan, 50 in Azamgarh, 140 in Meerut, 60 in Ayodhya, 40 in Varanasi , Gorakhpur Additional buses were organized for 300 to Meerut, 65 to Aligarh, 150 to Noida, 40 to Jhansi, 100 to Agra, 60 to Hardoi, 60 to Chitrakoot and 50 to Saharanpur.
