“We have heard submissions from lead counsel for the petitioner and the additional solicitor general representing the respondent,” the bench said. We have read the documents of the motion and the contested order. We see no reason at this stage to interfere with the order which has already been challenged. However, the Court clarified that if there is a change in circumstances or if there is no progress in the case in the trial court within a reasonable time, the petitioner will be entitled to file a new application for bail before trial. to research.

Anand had appealed to the Supreme Court against the Supreme Court’s September 9, 2022 order. The High Court had refused to grant him bail on the grounds that there was sufficient evidence against the petitioner and therefore he could not be released on bail. Earlier, a local court also rejected Anand Giri’s bail request. On September 20, 2021, the corpse of Mahant Narendra Giri was found hanging from the fan of Baghambari Gaddi Math in Prayagraj.
