In Uttar Pradesh (Uttar Pradesh), preparations are underway to complete the program of providing tap water to every household (Har Ghar Nal Jal Yojana) at the priority level. This program has been reviewed by Minister Jal Shakti, Swatantra Dev Singh. During this time, he gave a direct and strict message to slow speed engineers. He ordered to fix the target for each engineer. Engineers who do not meet this condition have been instructed to show the exit of the department immediately. The minister has clearly said that if laxity is found in the works, action will be taken against the chief engineer and even the superintendent engineer.
The chief engineer and superintendent engineer of the department stood on target during the review meeting in the auditorium of the State Mission for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Gomtinagar. The Minister said that it is the responsibility of the Chief Engineers to continuously monitor the progress of Har Ghar Nal Yojana. He warned that engineers in neighborhoods where door-to-door delivery of faucets would not pick up speed would be moved away from those neighborhoods. He said that to speed up the work in village-village, it was necessary to enter the field. In addition to monitoring, cooperation from the district administration and meetings with village leaders should be done. The minister linked the work of making people’s homes clean through taps with nationalism. He said it would change the way people think about the nation.
The minister asked the engineers one by one the questions about the water testing training given to women in the state and about tap hookups. State Minister Ramkesh Nishad, Namami Gange and Principal Secretary of Department of Rural Water Supply Anurag Srivastava, MD of Jal Nigam Balkar Singh were well present in the meeting. Minister of Jal Shakti advised executive engineers to work by doing time management. He said if you keep crying over the problem then the problem will never be solved.
If there is no full connection, there will be FIR against the agency
Under the Jal Jeevan mission, even after the completion of the program in the villages associated with the renovation program, if all the houses are not connected to the tap, an FIR will be filed against the agencies. The department will also file a lawsuit against these agencies. There is also a preparation for a great action against negligent engineers in investigation and action. During Wednesday’s review meeting, Principal Secretary Anurag Srivastava gave the warning while discussing the village linked to the modernization program. He said the village covered by the program should have 100% connection in any case. Tough action will also be taken against engineers who are slow to act against guilty agencies.
