Noida, Aug 2 (PTI) A splinter group from the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKYU) held a mahapanchayat in Bijnor, western Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday and highlighted the problems facing farmers.

Bhakiyu (non-political) officials said they raised issues related to sugar mills, pending sugarcane arrears, electricity supply and electricity bills during the ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’.

Bhakiyu (non-political) leader Digambar Singh said, “During the Uttar Pradesh elections earlier this year, the BJP promised farmers relief but the Yogi Adityanath government has yet to implement it.”

“If the government doesn’t provide relief to farmers on these issues, we will campaign against them across the state,” Singh said.

Bhakiyu (non-political) was formed earlier this year. It is carved in the Bhakiyu led by Naresh Tikait.
