Lucknow / Ballia:
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Sunday asked the BJP on whose side it was in the Ballia murder case, where a local party leader had allegedly shot and killed a person three days ago in the presence of SDM and police.
The incident took place on Thursday during a meeting regarding allocation of ration shops in Durjanpur village in the Reati area of Ballia.
A local BJP leader, Dhirendra Pratap Singh, shot dead 46-year-old Jai Prakash Pal Gama. The Uttar Pradesh government had suspended the SDMs, circle officers and other policemen present on the spot.
Police on Sunday arrested Dhirendra Pratap Singh and two others in connection with the case. Eight people have been arrested in the case so far.
In a series of tweets, while targeting the BJP, Priyanka Gandhi accused a ruling MLA.
He said with whom the BJP government is running in the Ballia incident, he said that BJP MLAs are openly supporting the accused.
In another tweet, he sought to know from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda if he was with the BJP MLA.
“If not, why is he still with the BJP,” she asked.
Meanwhile, UP’s Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Anand Swaroop Shukla accused him of “double character”.
He said that Priyanka has a double character. He was led by senior Congress leader P. P. on the issue of Section 370 in Kashmir. Should have tweeted on Chidambaram. People of double character do not succeed in politics and society.
