A 31-year-old woman from the US state of Colorado who last year admitted having sex with a 13-year-old boy will not go to prison, according to reports.

Andrea Serrano was charged with sexual assault on a child in a position of trust as well as sexual assault on a child by Fountain police. She had been facing sexual assault charges since her arrest in 2022. However, her attorneys strike a plea deal with prosecutors that forces her to register as a sex offender, but keeps her out of prison. According to reports, Andrea Serrano has accepted the deal.

Andrea Serrano was also pregnant with the teenager’s child and gave birth to a baby boy after her arrest last year.

The victim’s mother, who is 14 now, is not happy with the deal. “I feel like my son has been robbed of his childhood. Now he has to be a father. He is a victim, and he will have to live with that for the rest of his life,” the mother told KKTV.

The mother also says that if the gender is reversed in the case, the accused will face severe punishment. “I think if she was a man and she was a little girl, it would definitely be different. They would be looking for more. I think because she’s not a woman, they’re not. Mercy is coming,” the victim’s mother told KKTV.

Since incest is a class four felony in the state of Colorado, it was dropped on the lesser charge in this case. However, according to reports, Andrea Serrano may be sentenced by the judge to 10 years of ‘sex offender intensive supervised probation’.

A hearing in May will determine his probation period.
