Indian-American Neil Mohan to step down as CEO at YouTube

YouTube Chief Executive Susan Wojcicki will step down after nine years at the helm of the world’s largest online video platform, she said in a blog post today.

He added that Neil Mohan, YouTube’s chief product officer, would be the new head of YouTube.

Ms Wojcicki, 54, said she would “focus on family, health and personal projects that I am passionate about.” Wojcicki, previously senior vice president of advertising products at Google, became CEO of YouTube in 2014.

She was one of Google’s earliest employees and has been with parent company Alphabet Inc for nearly 25 years.

Prior to Google, Wojcicki worked at Intel Corp and Bain & Company.
