Poland has recognized Covishield as a Covid vaccine equivalent to those recognized by the European Union, which exempts a person vaccinated with it from quarantine upon entry into the country.
India has in the past asked several European countries to accept Kovidshield and other vaccines used in India for Indian nationals traveling to Europe.
“Poland recognizes #Covishield as equivalent to a vaccine recognized by the European Union, exempted from quarantine after entering the territory of the Republic of Poland,” the Polish embassy said in a tweet on Friday.
Earlier this month, the UK announced that Indians fully vaccinated with the Covishield vaccine would no longer need to undergo quarantine upon arrival in the UK from 11 October.
Covishield, the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, is being manufactured by Serum Institute of India.
