Taiwan’s prime minister reiterated on Tuesday that Taiwan “warmly welcomes” foreign guests ahead of a possible visit by US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to the self-governing island, which China claims as its own.

Asked about Pelosi’s visit, Premier Su Tseng-chang told reporters on Tuesday that Taiwan would “make the most appropriate arrangements” for such guests and respect their plans.
