Dutch government resigns over childcare subsidy scandal

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said his government resigned on Friday over a scandal in which parents were accused of benefit fraud, admitting that the system had gone “terribly wrong”.

Rute confirmed in a press conference, “The rule of law should protect its citizens from an all-powerful government, and here it is very wrong.”
